A varied career as hotel manager, restaurant owner and merchant seaman led to the publication of my first book, the critically acclaimed Maximum Diner, in 2004.

Since then I have become an NCTJ-qualified journalist whose work has appeared in newspapers including the The Observer, The Daily Telegraph and The Mail on Sunday. Magazine experience includes being editor of Everything America from 2005 to 2006. I write regular features for A Place in the Sun and Flybe Uncovered, and have been published in Supernanny, Location, Location, Location, SW Magazine and many more.

Internet work includes writing much of the copy for Channel 4’s new site; www.aplaceinthesun.com, and How to Invest guides for a property investment website.
